Featured Propane Appliances
Kitchen Range
This home’s Thermador 30” 59,000 BTU gas cooking range features five burners, including powerful bake and broil burners with precise controls, as well as a spacious convection oven. Chefs prefer cooking with gas for its consistent, even heat and precise temperature control. Food cooks faster with propane because propane burners apply heat directly to the pan. Electric ranges heat the surface, and then the pan. Propane burners offer nearly unlimited settings between a low simmer and a high boil.
Fireplace
This home’s Regency P90E propane fireplace with direct venting will provide the warmth and ambiance of a real flame with added security and convenience, and without the mess, hassle and smoke from burning wood. Propane fireplaces deliver efficiency ratings (FE) of over 90 percent. Wood-burning fireplaces operate at about 15 percent FE for comparison. The proven performance of propane delivers 5 to 6 times the heating capacity of electric fireplaces.
Furnace
Heated by an American Standard high-efficiency propane furnace, this home is sure to remain comfortable even during the cold winter season. Propane furnaces provide a warm, steady heat of 115 to 125 degrees, delivering significant comfort over electric furnaces, which supply a heat below your average body temperature of 98 degrees. Propane furnaces also save on energy usage while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, giving homeowners additional cost savings and peace of mind.
Standby Generator
With a Generac 22KW propane standby generator that powers on in seconds, this home will keep running as usual, even when the power lines go down. Unlike gasoline or diesel, propane doesn’t degrade over time, making it ideal for a standby fuel. Propane generators are quiet and reliable and adding one to a home will increase its value by providing peace of mind for the homeowner.
Garage Heater
Rural living provides the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors year-round. With a Mr. Heater Big Maxx 80,000 BTU Dual-Fuel Forced Air Garage Heater, these homeowners will be able to utilize their garage space throughout the year. This system utilizes the proven power of propane to deliver high-efficient, forced air style heat to provide warmth, comfort, and convenience.

Project Details
Josh and Kyra designed their home themselves with custom features to best-suit their family. Built by Marshal Millsap of Marshal Alan Investments, LLC of Sedalia, some unique features of the home include an open floor plan with a kitchen island facing the living room so the family can enjoy meals and activities together. Another neat feature is a wet room in the master bathroom. Born from an idea on a Pinterest board, a free-standing tub sits inside a large walk-in shower, so their kids can splash in the tub with no issues. This custom home also features a large pantry just off the kitchen to store cookware and food. Lastly, the kids’ bedroom share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom while each has a separate vanity-- a practical feature that will provide each child privacy as they become older.
Through MOPERC’s Propane HomePro program, the Brant family was able to upgrade the appliances originally planned for their home to top-notch propane models. An American Standard Platinum Series 95% AFUE model propane furnace will deliver instant heat and maximum comfort, regardless of the outdoor temperature.
The Brants will cook like professional chefs with a commanding Thermador Harmony propane cooking range offering precise temperature control. This dreamy kitchen range features five burners, including powerful bake and broil burners, in addition to a spacious convection oven.
Together, the family can enjoy the warmth and ambiance of a fireplace with a real flame, without the time and hassle required with burning wood. This home’s Regency propane fireplace with direct venting will be the focal point of a large open living room, dining area and kitchen.
Best of all, with a propane-powered Generac 22kW propane backup generator, the Brants will not be left in the dark during a power outage, providing a comforting peace of mind for a family with young children. In the event power is lost, this generator will kick on automatically within a matter of seconds.
The benefits of propane for the Brants reach beyond the walls of the home and into their detached garage and workshop with a Mr. Heater Big Maxx 80,000 BTU Garage Heater. This system utilizes the proven power of propane to deliver an efficient source of radiant style heat throughout the building.
“One of the great things about the propane lifestyle is that it can be enjoyed in many ways,” said Steve Ahrens, President of MOPERC. “This Propane HomePro project helps this young family’s dream home come to life, providing the comfort, security and efficiency they need for years to come.”
The Brants are looking forward to enjoying their home and property to the fullest. With plenty of room for their children to play and grow, this family is set to create a lifetime of special memories in and around their new propane-powered home.
